Reflecting on the MAQ T20 International Cricket Tournament '08, Cricket Council USA Chairman & CEO Mahammad "MAQ" Qureshi stated that "We are proud of the way the Tournament came about. We made history during the Memorial Day Weekend. Even the inclement weather couldn't deter the passion that was exibited by the thousands of Cricket fans who came to see first class 20/20 Cricket on display. The Cricket Legends, Javed Miandad, Richie Richardson, Lawrence Rowe and Mohammad Azharuddin, were impressed with the way the tournament was organized. They all agreed that they would be willing to participate in future Tournaments and support the our efforts to promote 20/20 Cricket in the United States."
| Thousands of
music fans turned out for the "Cricket Nights to Remember"
concert at the MAQ T20 International Cricket Tournament '08.
Due to inclement weather, the Saturday evening concert was cancelled. However, all the performers who were scheduled to perform on Saturday evening decided to perform on Sunday evening. Cricket Council USA thanks the following artists who made a special effort to stay an extra day to perform for the thousands of music fans who braved unfavorable weather conditions to come out and enjoy an evening of great music: Marcia Griffiths, Alamgir, Allison Hinds, Roopal G, Ky-mani Marley, Michelle Riu, Lust, Code Red, Florida Melody Makers and Adesh Samaroo.
Cricket and Music fans can rest assured that
exciting 20/20 Cricket and International music artists will continue to
entertain our supporters in upcoming Special Events in 2008.
